Big Changes Around Here

We have had some big changes here at the Revelli house. No I am not announcing anything, but we might as well have had a baby as much extra work as a puppy is. A great gal that Mitch works with heard our story about our last dog (She got run over before we even had her for a year, and she was ridiculously expensive) and gave us this wonderful little puppy. So after the mother no longer feed the puppies we got this little girl when she was only 5 weeks. I made a quick trip to Casper to pick her up. We decided since we had a collar already from the last one we would just use the same collar and call her Rustie the Second. Just Rustie for short. The girls love her and love to just run around having her chase them. Mitch is super excited because this dog if trained right is a really good bird hunting dog. My dad has a lot of pheasants on his farm and so Mitch is super excited about that. It took us almost a week to get her pen outside finished with a very grand dog house. Mitch put a lot of research into the best kind of dog house and now that I am working on this post I realize I don't have any pictures. Oops. I will have to get some and put them on another post.
The second exciting thing is that I don't have to rake any more!! Can I hear a hurrah? That is super exciting for me. We now have seed spread all over the front and back yard. My Dad came about a month ago(or more) and used his lawn tractor to till the whole thing. Thankfully we had some compost that we could mix in as well. I have spent the last month raking, leveling, and sifting rocks out of the dirt. Lately I have been pulling weeds as well. I am super excited. We hired a landscaping company to come Hydro seed. It was more expensive than buying seed and spreading it ourselves, but I think it was worth the extra money because it comes out with mulch and even glue to hold it in place as well as to keep birds from stealing it. It was really not as expensive as I thought. It would have cost us half that to just buy seed never mind the spreader, mulch, and whatever else we would have had to get. They were here for like 30 minutes and had everything covered. The back, front, and side yard are now seeded. Unfortunately we will not be going outside in the yard for up to 6 weeks. It is worth the sacrifice to have a lawn and not be worried about so much dirt and mud being tracked into the house. Party at our house when the lawn is in! Whoo hooo!!!
The front yard being sprayed
The backyard all seeded. Doesn't it look so level?
